Today as the nation pauses to remember the lives lost in our country’s worst attack 14 years ago, it’s important to reflect those that lost their lives and to commemorate the heroes that have risked their lives to save the lives of others. That day, I remember how united our country became despite partisanship on behalf of our government. That day, we all came together supporting one another.
The Americans that live here, love our land. We are the melting pot of the world and for those that lived and worked in New York, Washington DC, and flying over Pennsylvania this day 14 years became victims of terror. Not only their family, friends, coworkers, and acquaintances grieved, we all did.
I have to appreciate our country and President who spoke today about America, our nation refusing to give in to fear. In New York, Pentagon, and Pennsylvania, tributes and honoring those who sacrificed their lives were expressed. It’s unfortunate that our country continues to fight the war on terror because we choose to live with freedom and liberty that’s governed by Democracy.
Terrorists believe they have the power to dictate how we Americans think. What they don’t know is that it’s our optimism that defines us as a country. Our country’s strength since its birth has been to focus on the future and the well-being of its people. 9/11 serves as a reminder for us all to be proud for the USA. To stand beside each other and defeat those that seek to bring fear into our lives.
Let’s appreciate the men and women that choose not to live in fear. Those that will risk their lives in sake of a bigger cause – The fireman, police officers, and service men, the heroes in our everyday lives. For without such proud Americans, our country would have never of achieved all that it has in the last 238 years.
